Joel Harris is excited to be joining the Spring Eternal team. He is a husband, father, and sports enthusiast with a passion for people. He enjoys meaningful conversations about life and purpose, walking with people in the midst of challenge and hurts, and serving others generously. He is a person of faith and sees his counseling work as ministry.
In meeting Joel, one can anticipate a meaningful conversation with someone who is caring, accepting, and going to make you think. Joel sees people as beautiful mosaics that can be muddied or mired by the hurts and challenges that life can bring. In working through these difficulties, the true picture of a person as they are meant to be can shine through.
Joel has 8 years experience in counseling and 13 years experience in the social services field. He has a BA in Psychology from Asbury University and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Huntington University. He is a Nationally Certified Counselor and he is currently licensed in the states of Oklahoma and Indiana. He has worked with at-risk teens, individuals, and families in home-based, school, office, residential, and telehealth settings. His favorite population to work with is teens and young adults, but he also enjoys couples, families, and individuals. He has counseled those wrestling with mood disorders like depression and bipolar, various anxiety disorders, individuals with substance use histories, traumas, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, anger management, sexual abuse/sexual offense histories, pre-marital and marital issues, divorce, and relationship instability. Those hoping for a therapist with a faith background, or struggling with issues of faith and values will feel comfortable with his approach to counseling. He is grateful for the opportunity to walk through this chapter and take you to the next chapter of your life!
