“When you take care of yourself, you’re a better person for others. When you feel good about yourself, you treat others better.”- Solange Knowles
I am a marriage and family therapist currently under candidacy. I am trained in systems theory and use a systemic approach with my clients. This approach proposes that problems are not within the individual but rather the result of dysfunction within the individual’s greater system. I take into consideration all the environmental factors that may be negatively impacting one’s mental health which often provides a new lens for viewing a client’s clinical issues.
I love working with families, individuals, and couples. I believe that a sense of connectedness to others is vital for one’s mental health and enjoy helping clients to restore their sense of connection whether it be within themselves or their relationships. Mental health is my passion, and I am dedicated to helping others overcome their struggles and live life on their own terms. We can’t always change our circumstances however we can change how we choose to exist within them.
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”– Lena Horne
My most important job in life is being a mother. I love to do anything that involves being creative and art. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, baking, reading, and being outdoors.
