Teletherapy refers to the scope of individual, marriage, and family therapy practice of diagnosis, evaluation, consultation, intervention and treatment of behavioral, social, interpersonal disorders through synchronous or asynchronous two-way electronic communication including but not limited to telephone, video conferencing, email, text, instant messaging, and social media.

Spring Eternal will use teletherapy for the purposes mentioned above. Teletherapy clinical services will be used in the following major ways:

• Video conferencing, which is used for real-time patient-provider consultations, and provider-to-provider discussions.

• Use of electronic devices to transmit patient health information to health care providers/agency.

The use of teletherapy assists in improving the availability of counseling services by providing the following:

• More access to qualified providers

• Decreased travel time to services

• Reduced cancellations due to illness

The quality of service delivered via teletherapy will be consistent with the quality of service delivered in face-to-face settings. The use of teletherapy does not remove any existing responsibilities in delivering services. All providers must adhere to Code of Ethics, Scope of Practice, and all state and federal laws, on professional practice. Please be aware that standards of practice may vary from state to state.
